The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 includes $369 billion for climate and energy programs, including incentives for electric vehicles and renewable energy.
If the act is passed, it could cut climate pollution by around 40 percent by 2030, putting the U.S on track to reach President Biden's goal under the Paris Agreement of cutting U.S. emissions 50% by 2030. It would also be the biggest federal investment in clean energy ever made in the U.S, and could motivate other countries to take stronger climate action.
